EDL: Chicas – as good a reason as any to learn a language!

Here is the third extract from our Sixth Form Spanish boys used in the EDL assembly. Read on to find out Finley T’s fascinating insight into why boys should persevere with languages at school…
We know the real reason boys do Spanish; and what everyone thinks about when Spain is mentioned: the girls. Those olive-skinned goddesses that lure you into a Spanish web with their gyrating hips and wild eyed flamenco passion then, when you ‘whip out’, as it were, your flawless Spanish and dazzle them, the roles are reversed and they become butter in your English hands!
Well that’s the aim anyway, with the Modern Languages Department at this school you will be able to prepare your chat-up lines for those chicas and, using the expensive new language labs, you will also be able to hone your listening skills to enable you to ‘woo’ your own Spanish señorita and convince her of the fascination of those long afternoons spent watching England beaten in penalties by Spain or, go the other way and for the less inhibited of us accompany your mujer to the local tango classes. Imagine that, thanks to this school, you can become fluent practising your Spanish with the likes of: Nereida Gallardo (the ex girlfriend of Cristiano Ronaldo) and, the one and only, Penelope Cruz.
