Year 9: Las asignaturas
Posted on 08. Feb, 2010 by Mr Picardo in Español, Year 9
The boys in Year 9 have been learning about school subjects in Spanish and how to express their likes or dislikes using me gusta, me encanta and odio. After only a term and a half learning the language, they were also encouraged to use more complex linking words such as sin embargo (however) or además (furthermore).
Below are some of the Vokis that the boys produced while being filmed for a forthcoming programme which will be aired in the Summer Term on Teachers TV. Why not leave your comment on the side? What have they done well? Do you have any advice on how to write speak and write more complex Spanish?

good descriptions of the subjects, and well pronounced.
you need to just touch up on whether subjects are masculine feminine or plural. for example geography.
but still very good work.

well done adam, good pronounciation. Your presentation was very good except, you used me gusta quite alot and said el geografia instead of la geografia

Roshan, I though yours was very good. Your pronouciation was good and you used a wide range of vocabulary. I just thought you said porque to much. It was almost like a drum beat. …porque…porque…porque… Maybe don’t use porque all the time.

well done ryan. i thought it had a good range of vocabulary and you used ‘porque’ and got everything in there. Although there were a few words which were miss pronounced and hesitant. But, overall Well Done!

I thought yours was very good overall, you included lots of detail and your pronunciation was excellent.
However, you said el geografia instead of la geografia.

I thought yours was quite good, with good pronunction. However, you mixed up el and la on geography.

Everything was included and your pronunctiation was mostly very good but sometimes you weren’t very clear once you spoke.

Very good, large variety of words and phrases, good fluency obviously understands the language in depth. Sometimes accent not up to scratch.

Hi Roshan
I thought that your Voki was very good- your content was good and you were very easy to understand.
However you did get the pronunciation on some words slightly wrong- but so did I so I can’t talk.

Las presentaciones molan mucho y me impresionan sus frases con opiniones de las asignaturas, pronunciación y fluidez.
Unos consejos – hay que darse cuenta el género de una palabra así cada palabra debe concordar con su adjetivo relativo.
