Mis vacaciones – Year 11
Posted on 06. Mar, 2010 by Mr Picardo in Español, Year 11
Here are some of the videos you created using Stupeflix before the half term. It’s time to look into what you said and to highlight what was good, but also to point out what needs correcting.
Your task is as follows:
- Pick a video (not your own)
- Identify two things that are good – for example: good pronunciation, good use of conjunctions, a range of tenses etc
- Identify two things that could be improved – for example: grammatical mistakes, a lack of appropriate vocabulary or structures, etc
- Tell us about what you have identified by leaving a comment on the right hand side.
Please remember to be specific in both praise and critique. Mention actual things which were good or could be improved. Avoid being general.
Follow the instructions on how to leave comments (no surnames, etc) and remember to be nice in your comment! ![]()

Roshan, could you give some examples of those interesting constructions?

Jacob: Good pronunciation and did justify reasons well i.e. using demasiado. Possibly instead of using conjugations of ‘ir’ in the preterite tense all the time use ‘decidí ir’ or ‘viajé’.

Siiick tune Alex gee.
Complexity- creo que and carísimo
Comparative sentences used
I noticed one possible mistake, however, I am unsure whether or not the gerund should be used as to the infinitive when he says “prefiero ir al extranjero mas que en Inglaterra.
Also uses en la mañana as to por la mañana towards the beginning. Good Fluency and accent throughout.

Ollie uses basic constructions but makes them very good by using endings such as ‘-isimo’ and uses words such as ‘normalmente’ and ‘generalmente’ to great effecrt. Also uses three tenses with only a few minor mistakes. Very good man xx

Chris, really liked the pictures…and i think you have a good range of vocabulary, you have used the three tenses which is good although your pronunciaton needs improving as it is difficult to understand what your saying.

EthanL has generally good desciption throughout such as inolvidable and temprano and uses some varied structure with lo bueno que and normalmente. Speech is quite fluent, perhaps slightly slow with the odd stumble over words. No real big mistakes.

Chris B. The complexity of your presenattion is very good, using words such as ‘ademas’, however the sound quality is not great and a few words are pronounced wrong but other than that the complexity is very good, using a wide variety of sentance structure. However, in some cases you could start sentances with different beginnings other than verbs. Very Well DONE Chris A*

Conor S: Good pronunciation and useds a wide range of vocabulary.
Good use of tenses eg conditional with ‘tendria que.’
At times it is a little bit quiet, though is accent and fluency are very good.

Chris B: You have a good use of complex sentences and conjunctives such as “ademas” there a few pronunciation errors but they do not detract from the quality of your sentences. Love the pictures and overall you deserve a cheeky A+ xx

Harry: Overall, I thought it was a very good presentation. You spoke very clearly and were easy to understand. I couldn’t find any obvious mistakes in your script either. However, I don’t think you used all the tenses (no future), and the vocab wasn’t particularly adventurous either. Overall, I thought it flowed well, and you were very easy to understand, although you could well have made it more complex in parts.

EthanL: Pronunciation is very good however the speech could be clearer, but it terms of Spanish, very good. You use a good range of vocabulary, for example: Lo malo y lo bueno and cinco estrellas. Overall, a good presentation.
