Year 8 Animations: Housework

The boys in Year 8 have been learning about helping around the house in German, as well as describing frequency. Below is a selection of the animations they created using Domo Animation.
Further task for the boys: Please pick one of these animations and leave a comment on this page outlining two things that was done very well and one thing that could be improved next time round.

Ich habe nur zwei Animationen angeschaut. Sie gefallen mir gut. Es sind schöne kleine Geschichten. Ich werde das auch einmal mit meinen Schüler machen. Your animations are inspiring. Keep up the good work!

I think that Thomas W’s was very good i especially liked the people who did the actions as they matched the comment. However just a couple of spelling mistakes but overall i loved it very well done

For dominic. There was a lot of german writing which was good, and it was really like an animation. However you need to look out for the spelling (i and e).

Arjunr: I liked your animation because it showed the places in differnet places and the german was good. Some of your spellings could have been improved however.

Wow! Das sind super Animationen! Sie gefallen mir wirklich sehr gut. Sie haben Humor und sind interessant und kreativ.
Ein kleiner Tipp: When writing in German, double-check if a word is a noun because then it starts with a capital letter.Glaubt mir Englisch schreiben ist auch nicht einfach

For harryc. I liked the way the animations matched the text. The spelling was quite good. iIt was quite hard to read in the right order in time so it seemed: jeden Tag! Wie oft? Ich hore Musik. Otherwise, good!

BenM: i liked his because its greman was quiet accurate and his background was related to his text, but he could slow it down a bit as there was quiet a alot of text but not enough time to read it. but still GREAT!!!

BenM, a good effort. Your understanding of German is very good and the spelling was faultless. However, you have to improve your separable verbs.
e.g you put ‘Ich mache die Betten einmal pro Monat’ when it should be ‘Ich mache einmal pro Monat die Betten’.

Sanatk: I thought that the German was acurrate and the spelling was good. The animations i thought were good but however i think you could have put a bit more detail in your answers.

I particularly like it how the subject of the conversation matched the scene and you also had the correct word order, But be careful with spellings such as Auf Wiedersehen

I like how you had enough time to read each of the speech bubbles and and the german was almost perfect. You had most capitals in the right places and the verb endings look alright.
My only criticism would be that when the characters moved the speech bubbles did not which made viewing slightly confusing

This is really good. All the grammar is correct and the animation is very easy to read so you can read the german. Just one bad point where a couple of spellings are wrong. Sehr gut though!

i liked your animation very much.The german was good because you used a range of vocab and also the people didin’t just stay still, they moved around. The only thing that could have been improved was that the speech bubbles need to be on for longer. Otherwise,awesome!

This comment is for dominics. I thought the writing was very good and mostly accurate but you got your ie’s and ei’s mixed up at the end but on the whole it was a very good animation. sehr gut!

I thought you used a reasonable amount of vocabulary and i liked how it was set out. Your speech bubbles disappeared too quickly though.

ben I like the animation and I think that the language in it is great, you got the word order right and most of the spelling to what I could see but the only thing that I would have to criticise you in is that the speach bubbles were put on and of to quickly and I didnt have enough time to read all of it but other than thatr great job!!!!!!!!!

Ben M’s was very good i liked it how the thing you where talking about was in the background.the only problem was that it was to quick and you needed to split the text up into smaller chunks.;)

Ben M’s animation was sehr gut! he used lots of different answers to keep it fresh and the language was spot on as far as I can see. He could have timed the bubbles though instead of them coming up at the same time but all in all very well done ben!
