Film of the Week – La vie en rose

The school library has a collection of excellent foreign language films at your disposal. This week’s spotlight is on the very popular film about the life of Édith Piaf, La vie en rose.
La vie en rose (in French called La Môme) portrays a fragmented and non-chronological account of the singer’s rise from child and street singer to the world-renowned musical star that we remember her as now. Piaf’s character is played by Marion Cotillard most recently seen in Inception. Cotillard won the Academy Award for Best Actress as a result of her fantastic performance in the film making her the first to win the award for a film in French.
