Münster Exchange 2010

During October half-term 8 students from A Level German took part in the German leg of the Münster exchange organised and led by Mr Whitehead and Mr Brown. Below they share some of their experiences of spending a week immersed in German culture and family life.
“As the week ended, we were all very sad to be leaving, as we really had forged some strong friendships in Germany, and I myself had come to the conclusion that Germany was leagues better than the United Kingdom, but truly this was an amazing week, and with all my heart I implore anyone who has an opportunity like this to seize it, as I can safely say, I have no regrets in the slightest. My language also improved considerably, I should add, but this all happened without even noticing.” Dominic G
“Both the excursion to Köln and the visit to the Send really stood out as highlights in my view. In Köln, I was pleased that we had the opportunity to explore the city for ourselves in addition to the guided tour.” Kit C
“I will never forget my week spent in Münster. On the one hand, it was a serious school trip, during which I had to widen my German vocabulary and improve my German accent if I wished to get my point across. On the other hand, however, it was a great opportunity to make friends, have a few laughs, and experience a new country, for which I am very grateful.” Matthew G
“All in all, just seeing the daily lives of people from a different country was one of the best experiences of my life. Being able to eat with, watch TV with and even go to school with a German stranger was unbelievably interesting; from sitting down for an evening meal to cycling for 20 minutes just to get to school – I will not forget a single moment of it.” Ben H
“The exchange was a brilliant trip and experience for me as I am sure everyone else would also agree. It was arranged perfectly by both sets of teachers and this led to a great week in an amazing city!” Freddie S
