Broadway have a French and a Spanish film on over the Easter holidays. Take a look at the synopses below and watch the trailers on Broadway’s website. Watching foreign language films is brilliant revision!
Little White Lies includes the oscar-winning Marion Cotillard in its cast and is showing from 15th – 28th April. “Guillaume Canet has assembled an outstanding cast of some of France’s finest actors – headed by the incandescent Marion Cotillard – to make an entertaining and acutely observed drama of manners. A group gathering is hosted every year by a couple at their beautiful beach house where they kick-off their summer vacation by celebrating the birthday of one of the gang. Fun, fine wine and seafood mix with sun and sand as they all leave their city stresses and inhibitions behind. But this year is different. A serious motorcycle accident leaves one of them behind and over the course of the next week, all the tensions within the group erupt into full daylight.” Toronto Film Festival
The Silent House is Uruguayan film and is showing from Friday 8th – 21st April. “The most audacious and scarily effective indie horror since The Blair Witch Project, The Silent House is a haunting, nerve-shredder from Uruguay, shot incredibly in real time in one take on a Canon digital camera. Laura and her father arrive at a rundown cottage to spend the night. Soon the sounds begin from outside and they become louder and louder…” Leeds International Film Festival
