Year 9 make animations in Spanish
Posted on 30. Jun, 2011 by Mr Picardo in Español, Year 9
Year 9 have been working hard this year to learn Spanish from scratch. Below are some animations they have produced to consolidate the language they have acquired in recent months. They have been created using a web application called GoAnimate. We very much hope yo enjoy looking at them as much as the lads enjoyed making them
Further task for the boys: Please pick one or two of the animations and read it carefully. Then please leave a comment in the column to the right of this post using the two stars and a wish format – two things that you think they did well and one thing you think they could improve.

@ed1234:
Your vocabulary is much better than mine was in Year 9, as are your verb conjugations. Perhaps you should try to avoid repeating yourself at times such as with the words ‘siempre’ and ‘hacer’ so that you can show off more of your vocabulary. I also noticed that you got just about all of your adjective agreements correct. Congrats.

Great work guys, I could only check out a few but I liked ed1234′s video; lots of great adjectives, but a few typos and mistakes – Un profesor no es un prodesr!

thomash- this is a very good video the spanish is excellent. what is good to see is that all your agreements match which is good. For year 9 this is fantastic writing. One thing I will say is that maybe sometimes improve the fluency of your spanish use shorter phrases. eg instead of saying el dormitorio de mis padres and el dormitorio de mi hermano say los dormitorios de mis padres y hermanos, but really it won’t matter a huge amount.

To Raghav,
Your range of vocabulary was superb and there was lots of information included. My only slight concern was that there was so much information in each speech bubble that I had trouble reading all of it in time!

I thought your range of vocab was brilliant and your use of scenes and characters were excellent. For example when you talked about having a dog (Tengo un perro)a dog walked on. However there were a few minor mistakes, these were agreements. However I thought this animation was fantastic.

To Raghav
Your range of vocabulary was excellent and you covered most of this year’s work. However, try to use different forms of verbs.

@ MaxBo
Your spanish was excellent, I didn’t notice any mistakes and you used advanced vocabulary – such as ‘de momento’ and ‘y alumnos mucho alugnos’ – making it instantly more professional (if that’s the right word). Also the animation itself was good, and didn’t get boring.
Well Done

MaxBo – great range of vocabulary, including words that we haven’t even learned. Great use of verb conjugations; just try to give us slightly longer to read it perhaps.

Thomas W – I think your animation is great. Your adjective agreement (un piso viejo, hija única) is perfect, and you have tried to expand your sentence construction using porque. If you did this even more, it would make your writing really detailed and interesting. Even so, overall, it is very good.

Ragspanish – You have produced a very interesting Domoanimate. Your vocab is quite complex (Me presento, naci en la India and Desafortuadamente) and your accents are all there. (qué and útil)
However it is very hard to read as it is VERY SMALL writing and you often lose your place.
Overall very good

To Nathan
You covered all of the major topics well and remembered most of the accents e.g inglés and educacíon físíca.
Be careful with adjective agreements (La señora Radford es muy divertido)It should be Divertida.

To NathanG,
I think your animation was very acurate qand used a variety of vocab and grammar techniques, however there was a point in the film when some of the words had symbols instead of letters!
Apart from the little slip with the dialogue, Well done!

Thomash:
*Star* – great use of language; it covered almost everything we’ve done this year.
*Star* – you remembered to make all of your adjectives agree (una familia pequeña; mis padres son simpáticos etc.)
*Wish* – remember to use the ‘you’ form for questions! There was a ‘¿veo la television?’ question, which is incorrect.

@Jon C
You have a very large range of voacb and your word endings are generally correct. You have also used many verb forms which is good. However you have to make sure your agreements are correct and music choice was not great. Great overall!

ed1234,
* – Your use of vocabulary is above what is probably expected :’Wollaton es bonito y está cerca del centro de Nottingham’.
* – The adjective endings are mostly correct. An example is ‘Mi tío es bajo y gordo y muy divertido’.
Wish – Perhaps if you had put a little more care into your work then some silly mistakes such as the capital letters and ‘Mi abuelos son un poco tímidos y bastante alto’ may have been eradicated. Otherwise a good piece of work.
